Greetings from Ms. Goard aka Ms. G (formerly Mrs. Barksdale)

Hello, Westside families and staff!

I'm Ms. Goard, but around here you'll probably hear me answer to Ms. G. If I look familiar, that's because many of you knew me as Mrs. Barksdale. While my name may have changed, my commitment to our students, staff, and school community remains exactly the same.

As one of the Assistant Principals at Westside Elementary, I have the privilege of supporting our amazing students, partnering with our dedicated teachers, and helping create a school environment where everyone can learn, grow, and succeed.

You'll often find me visiting classrooms, cheering students on, solving problems, celebrating successes, and occasionally reminding everyone that walking in the hallway is not, in fact, an Olympic sport.

I believe in building strong relationships, maintaining high expectations, and making school a place where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. Whether you're a student, parent, staff member, or community partner, my door is always open.

I'm excited for another incredible year at Westside and can't wait to see all the amazing things our Eagles accomplish!
