Dear Westside Elementary Families,

 

Welcome to another exciting school year at Westside Elementary School! It is an incredible privilege to serve this remarkable school community, and I am filled with enthusiasm and gratitude as we begin another year of learning, growth, and unforgettable memories together.

 

Education has always been about more than academics. It is about inspiring curiosity, building character, creating opportunities, and helping every child discover who they are and who they can become. That is the work that fuels my passion each and every day. I believe every student deserves a school where they are challenged, celebrated, encouraged to dream big, and surrounded by adults who believe wholeheartedly in their potential.

 

At Westside Elementary, we proudly honor the generations of educators, students, and families who have shaped our school's story. Their dedication, perseverance, and commitment have built a tradition of excellence that continues to inspire us. This year, we are excited to build upon that foundation while writing the next chapter in Westside's legacy.

 

Our focus this school year centers on helping every child grow academically, socially, and personally. We know that success looks different for every learner, which is why we remain committed to individual student growth and ensuring every child makes meaningful progress. Classrooms will be filled with active learning experiences that encourage students to collaborate, explore, create, and think deeply. Through high-level questioning and engaging instruction, we will challenge students not simply to find answers, but to ask thoughtful questions, solve problems, and become confident, independent thinkers.

 

One of our most exciting initiatives this year is strengthening our Westside Core Values by intentionally embedding manners into everything we do. We believe that Legacy Starts with Manners. Kindness, respect, responsibility, gratitude, and empathy are not simply expectations. They are the foundation of who we are and who we aspire to become. Good manners foster strong relationships, create welcoming classrooms, and help every child develop the confidence and character needed to succeed both in school and beyond.

 

We also remain committed to creating a school experience unlike any other. We want Westside Elementary to be a place where students are excited to walk through the doors each morning, where learning is engaging, classrooms are welcoming, creativity is celebrated, and every child feels seen, valued, and inspired. Every hallway, classroom, and learning space should spark curiosity, encourage discovery, and remind our students that school is a place where they belong. We invite our families and community members to be active partners in this journey because the strongest schools are built through meaningful relationships and a shared commitment to our children.

As we enter the final years in our historic school building, we recognize the countless memories, traditions, and milestones these walls have held for generations of students, families, educators, and staff. While we will always cherish the history that makes Westside so special, we are equally excited as we watch our beautiful new school take shape just beyond these walls. There is something incredibly meaningful about celebrating our rich history while witnessing the construction of our future. Together, we look forward to making treasured memories in this historic building while eagerly anticipating the new experiences and opportunities that await our students in the years ahead.
