The School Board will hold a public hearing on the 2024-2025 School Operational Budget on Thursday, March 21, 2024, beginning at 6:00 pm in the Westside Elementary School Auditorium, 800 W. Main St., Smithfield, VA 23430. Citizens wishing to speak during the citizens comments section of the meeting can file a Request to Speak form . The form may be obtained from any county school principal's office or the Superintendent's office. It is also available online. Requests to speak may also be made by contacting Jessica Whitlow, Board Clerk, at [email protected], or by calling 757-365-1619 prior to the meeting. Citizens may also sign up at the beginning of the meeting on the signup sheet placed at the entrance of the meeting room. Requests to speak must be made before 6:00pm the night of the meeting. Following the public hearing, the board will hold a budget work session. The hearing and work session will be streamed live on the IWCS Facebook page and YouTube channel.
